Pros and Cons living in Potong pasir.

Potong pasir is an area located between Toa Payoh and Sennett estate in the Central region of Singapore.It is famous for its unique archtitecture with slanted roofs.It has became the most recognisable icon of Potong Pasir.

There is river called the Kallang River in Potong Pasir.Its unique as we do not usually see rivers in our neighbourhoods.It flows for 10 kilometres from the Lower Peirce Reservoir to the coast at Nicoll Highway, making it the longest river in Singapore.It is also nice too see residents going for their morning stroll and relaxing by looking at he view of the Kallang River.However,Some irresponsible residents are throwing rubbish into the Kallang River.This causes the river to be polluted.A polluted river could also cause diseases to spread easily.


The St Andrews village is also part of the neighbourhood which ranges from the Acension kindergarden to the St Andrews junior college.These schools provide and all-round education for it students.It focuses on making a student.
a better person.They also organise activities like the coastal clean-ups in the Kallang river.It shows they care a lot about this neighbourhood.However,Some times residents also have to put with irresponsible or reckless behaviour from students.For example,Students who vandalise the walls.

Potong pasir is a multi-racial community.There is an Indian temple,church and mosque for Residents who are Indians,Christians or Muslims.There are very few amenities in Potong pasir.The amenities are a barber shop, 3 food centres,2 fast-food restaurants,a small wet market, a ABC shop, a park and a community centre which has basketball courts, an archery range, street soccer court,badminton and also a newspaper reading corner for the Elderly people.Residents have to go to other places for shopping as there is no shopping centre in Potong pasir.They also have to go to other places to get a variety of food as there is very limited food outlets in Potong pasir.

Now on our final verdict of Potong pasir,Its a very quiet environment and where there is not so much noise or disturbance.It is very peaceful.However,There needs to be certain facilities like Shopping centre,Hospitals and more food outlets which could modernize Potong pasir and cater to the needs of the residents.
